ㅤpersonalityㅤ Panne is a brutish, aloof young woman who’s straight to the point and speaks in what others consider a crass manner. With this, she has a gentle side that comes out occasionally, and is fiercely loyal to those close to her. In her early life and in ARR, she was much more rambunctious, but has quieted down into a more solemn personality over the years.

History
early life Not much is remembered of her early childhood, but Panne was born into a traditional Keeper tribe who would often migrate from place to place. On one of these journeys, Panne grew sick with an illness that none of her tribe members could identify.As the days went by and she grew sicker, the tribe collectively decided that she was a lost cause, and they already had too many mouths to feed. So, they left her to the whims of the wilderness as they carried on with the rest of their journey. It was after several days of being hungry and cold, and too weak to do anything about it that a pair of moogles found Panne shivering under the shade of a tree. Feeling pity for the child, they took her in to their safe haven and helped her recover.With a great amount of nurturing and patience, Panne’s strength returned, and the sickness left. Feeling thankful and now indebted to the moogles of Moghome, Panne spent the rest of her childhood in the Churning Mists, taking on the role of what the moogles called their “Mog Guardian”, whose duties included hunting, gathering, cleaning, and defending their secret safe haven from possible intruders.
pre-arr When Panne grew to be fifteen summers, the moogles of Moghome relieved her of her mog guardian duties to “see the world and go out and meet others of her own kind, kupo”. With that, they also declared her as exiled from their haven so that she does not try to sneak back. “No hard feelings, kupo.”They sent her to one of the nearby settlements in Dravania to catch a carriage to Gridania, knowing of the renowned archers and lancers guilds there that would gladly take someone of her talent and help polish her skills. If anything went awry, she was told to go to the moogles of the Shroud, whom the moogles of the Mist have already established relations with.While Panne’s transition into formal society was rocky at first, she eventually became one of the most dependable errand-girls adventurers in Gridania, known to be a bit rough around the edges, but good at getting any job done.

G’raha Tia
relationship: romanticWhen the two met during the Crystal Tower expeditions, Panne thought G’raha to be rather obnoxious and a bit annoying, so she brushed him off for a time. As they got to know each other more, and they shared with each other a bit of their past experiences, G’raha grew to be a really close friend in Panne’s eyes with the possibility to turn into something more.
But the day would come when he would close those doors, and Panne would be left feeling like she failed him. She goes on to bury her feelings of regret and convert them into rage once she experiences more of the losses of those close to her.
It would not be until post Shadowbringers, after the Exarch reveals himself and Panne finally reconnects with him that she fully realizes the depths of what he means to her, and what she means to him in turn.
G’raha confesses his feelings for her then. It would not be until the two of them reach Ultima Thule that she would return the actual confession in turn, but there would be a lot of pining, stolen moments, and unsaid words in-between.
T’orr Tia (unique to 2 wols timeline)
relationship type: platonicT’orr is one of Panne’s closest confidants.At their initial meeting, there was a huge personality clash between them, where Panne thought T’orr was too much of a ‘pompous prick’, while T’orr thought Panne to be too ‘unrefined’ to work with.
Yet, since the two of them had been chosen by Hydaelyn as her champions, they had to learn to work together.
Where in personality they would crash - in battle, they were perfectly in sync, with Panne acting as vanguard and T’orr acting as her support and their tactician.
Through the events of the story, they would learn to look past each other’s differences and even learn to appreciate them; Panne for her straightforwardness and loyalty, and T’orr for his cunning and own ways of showing that he truly does care, despite how much he may deny it.
Estinien Varlineau
relationship type: it’s complicated…Estinien is a kindred soul to Panne, and to her, he is a friend, a mentor, and trusted comrade.
Their relationship started in ARR, when Panne went to seek out the “dragoon who has a thing for eyeballs” to be taught by one of the best in the land how to master her lance. Estinien flat out denied her at first, but after her persistence, he eventually agreed to train her but not as a formal dragoon.[Trigger Warning: Dubious Consent]
Panne forgets it happened, while Estinien remembers everything. So, to preserve their friendship, he lies to her that nothing happened between them the night before.
There’s some awkward tension between them in SHB, but they patch things up in post-Endwalker.
Mogba and Mogji
relationship: paternalThe elderly moogle couple who found Panne as a child. They never had any children or grandchildren of their own, but Panne came to fill in that role and brought them a lot of joy.
Despite their small forms, the pair of moogles have a big attitude and language so foul it could make the pirates in Limsa blush. Naturally, Panne would grow up to have similar mannerisms.
